Printable Secret Santa kit

Everything you need for a paper Secret Santa: name slips to draw from a hat, gift tags, a rules sheet to fill in, wish list cards and number cards for white elephant. Print a single sheet from this page or download a PDF. Free, with no sign-up.

Print a sheet

Choose a sheet to print. Each button prints only that sheet. Type names first if you want the name slips and gift tags filled in.

Up to 100 names. Leave empty to print blank slips. Names stay on this device and aren’t saved or sent anywhere.

Name slips

Write one name on each slip (or type them above to print them filled in), fold them and draw from a hat. If someone draws their own name, they put it back and draw again.

The rules

  1. Keep the name you drew secret until the reveal.
  2. Stay within the budget. It’s a limit, not a target.
  3. Check the wish list or questionnaire before you shop.
  4. Check allergies before buying food, and skip strong scents unless you know they’re liked.
  5. Wrap your gift and write the recipient’s name and “From your Secret Santa” on the tag.
  6. Bring your gift by the exchange date, or post it in good time.
  7. Keep it kind: nothing that could embarrass anyone.
  8. Can’t take part after all? Tell the organizer privately as soon as you can.

Wish list cards

Each person fills in a card and hands it to the organizer, who passes it to their Secret Santa. For more detail, use the online questionnaire.

Printing tips

A paper draw is fun at a party, but anyone can draw their own name, and someone may see who drew whom. If that matters, draw names online: the generator never pairs anyone with themselves, keeps couples apart and sends each person a private link. Planning a family exchange? See family Secret Santa. Looking for a game? Try one of our 12 gift exchange games.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print the Secret Santa name slips?

Type the names into the box (optional), press “Print name slips”, and cut along the dashed lines. The names stay on this device; nothing is sent anywhere. You can also download the blank PDF and write names by hand.

What paper size are the printables?

They are designed for both A4 and US Letter. In the print dialog, choose your paper size and “Fit to page” if anything is cut off.

Are the printables free?

Yes. Print as many as you like for your own exchange, at home, school or work.

What are the white elephant number cards for?

They decide the turn order. Fold them, put them in a hat and let each player draw one. Number 1 goes first. You can also use our white elephant turn order tool to draw the order online.

Is a printed hat draw fair?

It’s fair if people draw without looking, but anyone can draw themselves, and the person running it may see who drew whom. If that matters, use the online generator: it never pairs anyone with themselves and the organizer doesn’t see the pairs.

What should I write on the gift tag?

Write the recipient’s name and “From your Secret Santa”. If you want to stay anonymous, print the tag or ask someone else to write it, since handwriting is easy to recognise. Some groups add a riddle or a hint for a fun reveal.

What if we have an odd number of people?

That’s fine. Secret Santa doesn’t need pairs: each person gives one gift and receives one gift, and the gifts form loops (Alex buys for Sam, Sam buys for Jo, Jo buys for Alex). Any group of 3 or more works, odd or even.
