Accessibility statement
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in both the light and dark themes.
What we provide
- A “Skip to the timer” or “Skip to content” link, clear headings and page landmarks.
- Every control is a real button, slider or field with a visible label, and works with the keyboard.
- The timer doesn’t announce every second. Screen readers hear the start, pause, end of each session and a “5 minutes left” notice; “Announce time left” reads the remaining time on demand.
- Single-key shortcuts can be turned off, and they never fire while you type in a field.
- Sound toggles say whether they are on, and each volume slider reports its value.
- Fullscreen and classroom modes always have a visible Exit button and close with Escape.
- The progress ring and other animations stay still if your device is set to reduce motion.
- When a session ends, a message appears on screen as well as the chime, so you don’t have to hear it.
How we test
Pages are checked with automated tools (axe and Lighthouse) in both themes, on mobile and desktop sizes, and by keyboard.
