Accessibility statement
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in both the light and dark themes.
What we provide
- A “Skip to the puzzle” or “Skip to content” link, clear headings and page landmarks.
- The board is a grid you can use entirely with the keyboard: arrow keys move, digits 1–9 enter, Delete or Backspace erases, N switches notes mode.
- Each cell has a label that a screen reader announces, for example “Row 3, column 5, empty, notes 2 and 7” or “Row 1, column 1, given 4”.
- Placed digits, conflicts and the solved puzzle are announced politely, without interrupting.
- Conflicts and mistakes are shown by more than colour: conflicting cells get a marker and wrong digits are underlined.
- Number-pad buttons are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Grid lines and box borders keep at least 3:1 contrast, and text at least 4.5:1, in both themes.
- There is no confetti or other completion animation, and other movement stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Every technique diagram has a text description, and the solver explains its steps in words.
How we test
Pages are checked with automated tools (axe and Lighthouse) in both themes, on mobile and desktop sizes, and by keyboard.
